Apple throws its hat into the AI-generated image ring
Apple, in collaboration with researchers from the University of California, has released its own AI-based image editing model that and anybody can try.
Image generated with Image Creator from Microsoft DesignerThe model has been dubbed “MGIE,” which stands for MLLM-Guided Image Editing and allows users to edit images based on natural language instructions. It leverages multimodal large language models (MLLMs), which combine various types of information, such as text, photos, and videos, to understand and generate human-like language.
While studies on MLLMs have shown promising results in understanding and generating images, they haven’t been implemented widely yet.

While a further teardown by iFixit shows that Apple Vision Pro is not like having a 4K display in front of each eye, it’s close and the device has an extremely high pixel density.
Examining the displays in an Apple Vision Pro (Source: iFixit)In its first teardown of the Apple Vision Pro, iFixit showed how EyeSight used multiple displays in the front of the unit.
For a second teardown, this time sufficient to award the device 4 out of 10 for repairability, the company examined the main displays.
