Apple Music incentivizes artists to release Spatial Audio music with royalty bump
Apple Music hopes to increase its Spatial Audio music offering by paying artists up to 10% more royalties as long as they’ve published songs in the format.
Apple MusicDolby Atmos music, which Apple has dubbed Spatial Audio music, launched in 2021 on Apple Music. The feature has proven popular for the service, but Apple wants more artists taking part in the format.
In what was likely an email to Apple Music artists seen by 9to5Mac, Apple is encouraging artists to make their music available in Spatial Audio. As long as an artist has tracks available in Spatial Audio, the artist is eligible for royalties up to 10% higher from Apple.

Apple Vision Pro lead times are useless for investors, warns J.P. Morgan
Investors shouldn’t be concerned about the long lead times for the Apple Vision Pro, analysts at J.P. Morgan say, and that focus should be placed on feedback from actual customers.
Apple Vision Pro at Apple ParkWith the release of the Apple Vision Pro on February 2, there’s very little time to go before the public gets its hands on Apple’s headset. Shipments for the device slipped nearly instantly after preorders opened, with shipping dates stretching to March and April for some customers.
However, like the experience of previous Apple releases, investors are apparently looking at the lead times with interest, as some measure of how popular the device will be. In one example. Ming-Chi Kuo estimated there were around 180,000 sales made in the first pre-order weekend, but also pointed out the extended shipping times remained unchanged 48 hours after opening.
