LG first to add native Apple Music Dolby Atmos support to smart TVs
LG has become the first smart TV producer to enable support for Dolby Atmos Apple Music support without the use of Apple TV hardware.
An LG Smart TV running Apple MusicDolby Atmos is a format that Apple Music uses for Spatial Audio recordings. While listeners will have encountered it on iPhone and iPad using Apple audio devices like AirPods Pro, Dolby Atmos support in Apple Music is now headed to smart TVs.
According to FlatpanelsHD, LG has become the first to enable Apple Music Dolby Atmos support on its smart TVs. Rolling out as an update to the Apple Music app, the publication found the support was enabled on an LG GX OLED TV released in 2020.

GM’s decision to move away from CarPlay was to avoid Apple having too much control over vehicles. It’s going to be a bumpy ride for consumers.
GM’s Ultifi interfaceIn March 2023, GM decided to stop providing CarPlay and Android Auto to consumers, in favor of using its own system. With CarPlay increasing its hooks into the systems of vehicles, it was too much for GM to stomach.
GM’s response was to make its own interface, starting with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer. At first glance, it seems the effort has teething issues.

iPhone demand is falling, claims component supplier Skyworks
Apple supplier Skyworks has been regarded as a proxy for Apple’s iPhone demand, and the company may have some bad news for investors.
Apple’s iPhone 15 ProSkyworks does not break down its earnings by customer, but it has been a longtime partner for Apple, making wireless networking components for the company. It’s not believed to be the sole supplier for any of its components, however, so a drop in its sales is not definite proof of declining iPhone interest.
Nonetheless, Skyworks CEO Liam K. Griffin has told investors that the decline in smartphone component demand is marked. Consequently, the company is planning to diversify more.
