To use Tap to Pay, users just hold their iPhones together before starting the transaction
Following its addition of Apple Pay support in September 2023, PayPal has now announced that its US users now have the option to use Tap to Pay. Unlike the slow rollout of Apple Pay support, the company says that Tap to Pay is now US-wide.
“As consumers increasingly turn to non-cash options to pay, small businesses are looking for affordable and flexible ways to offer their customers more payment choice without being tied down to a fixed location,” said PayPal’s Nitin Prabhu in a statement, “With Tap to Pay on iPhone, millions of small businesses that use Venmo and PayPal Zettle can now start accepting contactless card and digital wallet payments nearly anywhere, directly on their iPhones, which can expand their customer base and drive incremental sales.”
