The makers of the LastPass password manager have issued a warning that “LassPass” on the App Store is fraudulently impersonating the real app.

LastPass is one of many password managers available, although it has had its share of controversies. Now it has issued an alert concerning an alleged fraudulent copy of its app.

“LastPass would like to alert our customers to a fraudulent app attempting to impersonate our LastPass app on the Apple App Store,” says the warning in a blog post. “The app in question is called ‘LassPass Password Manager’ and lists Parvati Patel as the developer.”

Apple issued a surprise round of operating system updates across most of its devices on Thursday, with a rare bug causing periodic duplication of text now fixed.

The patch notes for all the releases are sparse, saying only that they contain general bug fixes. The iOS and iPadOS notes detail a specific fix for user-entered text that may unexpectedly duplicate or overlap while typing.

The iOS and iPadOS updated hold build 21D61. This is incremented from the iOS 17.3 build, which was 21D50.

Germans trying to bring Apple Vision Pro into their country without realizing they have to pay import tax are facing fees, fines, and even the confiscation of their devices.

Apple may be launching the Apple Vision Pro internationally soon — and perhaps China very shortly — but for now it is solely available in the US, and that’s proving to be a problem.

Some international users have decided not to wait and instead have flown to the States to be one of the first to own an Apple Vision Pro. Unfortunately, some who then returned home to Germany have subsequently been stopped by customs authorities.
